Credit cards can be a great help and then again they can also be a great burden on people. The main point is that it is not the credit card's fault and it is certainly not the company's fault. I, for one, have had many phone calls in the past where I was very angry with the person on the other end of the phone from the credit card company. "Why are you raising my rates? Can't you see that I am having trouble making payments?"
Well what I have eventually come to believe and think is that ultimately it is not their fault but mine. I am responsible for my own failures and faults. I am responsible for my own debt.
It is important to note that you should be very responsible and do NOT let credit cards get out of control. No let me re-phrase that... YOU should not get out of control with credit cards.
The laws have changed and declaring bankruptcy is not as easy as it once was. So be careful
With all that being said, NOW I can go on and say that credit cards can be a very useful tool. Use them carefully and use them only when you need to.

- How much are your interest rates now?
Can you transfer your card's balance to a new card with a smaller interest rate? Find out now by checking out some card's rates.
- How many cards do you need?
Do you need cards for just you or for you and your spouse or kids?
- Do you have good credit?
If not, your interest rate may be higher than you would like.
- Have you declared bankruptcy before?
If so, you either may not be able to get a card or your rates will be way too high.
- What do you need the card for?
Is this your first card? Is this a business card? If this is a loan because you need money; don't do it. Bad idea.
- Make payments on time.
Try to make payments on time so you don't get hit with high interest rates and bad credit.
